BRIDGEND ATHLETIC CLUB is based at the Clubhouse and Running Track behind the BRIDGEND RECREATION CENTRE ,Newbridge Fields ,BRIDGEND, South Wales.
Help is always required for coaching, administration and general assistance. We will give help and arrange training for coaches and officials.The club does not provide coaching & training facilities for those who do not wish to compete for us. We do not provide training purely for recreation or to get fit for other sports" WE ARE A COMPETATIVE ATHLETICS CLUB.

Well done to those who competed in the Bridgend Junior Schools XC race yesterday .
A great first win for Amy Thomas in the girls year 5/6 race just beating clubmate Bethan Johnson into 2nd place,Well done to everyone else also.

What a great weekend the club had at this weekends Welsh Junior (u13-u20) indoor Champs in UWIC Cardiff,
A massive total of 14 medals (7 gold ,3 silver and 4 bronze)
On Saturday the highlight of the day was Gold double for Rhys Roberts in the 60mh and Long Jump and also a silver in the HJ,also another double Gold for Stephen Guest in the HJ and PV.
Great wins also for Rhianydd Llewellyn in the PV ,Jamie Morris in the LJ who also followed that with a bronze in the 60m.
Sundays Gold winner was Isabel Hughes in the 300m her first major championship Gold.
The rest of the medals winners were Leah Thomas silver in the 60mh,Courtley Lock bronze 60mh,Katie Lewis silver 60mh,Morgan Ley Bronze 60mh,Rob McGregor bronze PV.
Well done also to Megan Osborne,Lucy Tarrant,Emma Johnson,Ruben Tooze,Daniel Brace,Oliver Hunt,Zoe Nash,Ellie Bishop,Felicity Williamson-Sarll,Lora Roberts,Lucy Taylor and David Guest.
Great to see many new faces competing and many who have worked so hard gaining the reward winning Championship medals for the first time,lots of PBs also for those who did not win medals.

We will soon be posting and handing out this years membership forms.
Please note that Senior membership has been increased from £35 to £40,for New Junior Members the membership has also been incresed from £25 to £40 but this now includes a club vest.
For renewal of junior membership the fee remains at £25 .
Please note we expect all junior members to pay their training fees by standing order ,currently only 35% do so our target by April is a 80% minimum .
Details of the standing order payments can be found in your membership pack.

For those of you (mostly Female) who require made to measure kit for the summer (crop tops etc.) please see link below for WASP sports our supplier .
You must download a measurement form and complete this and send off with your order please ask for Bridgend AC colours.Dont leave it too late it can take a while for items to come back.

There will be a UK Athletics Level 1 officials course on Tuesday 9th February @ 7pm in the Swansea Harriers Club Cafe. This is very basic course and is an ideal opportunity for new parents/helpers to learn the basics of timekeeping, track judging and field judging, the course costs just £10(club will pay). This will be followed by a UKA Level 2 at Swansea University ITC on Sunday 7th March for those who wish to progress. Application form attached to be returned to Ken Bennett, 2 Pen Y Morfa, Penclawdd, Swansea, SA4 3RF with a £10 cheque payable to Welsh Athletics.
