Bridgend Athletic Club is a thriving athletics club based in the heart of the borough of Bridgend. We cater for all ages from 9-90 and for athletes of all abilities. Currently we have over 200 members, most of whom are juniors under 17, the rest are Seniors and Masters.
We have been promoting athletic excellence for some 50 years, and during that time we have seen many of our talented members achieve at the highest level - Olympians, World and Commonwealth representatives.
Our track and clubhouse facility is located at Newbridge Fields, Bridgend (behind the Bridgend Recreation Centre)
We are a self funded, not for profit voluntary organisation, who reinvests any surplus funds into a progressive coach and education programmes, equipment and the necessary transport for competition throughout Wales and England.
If you would like to visit or become involved in the club; either actively or in a voluntary capacity; a Monday between 6 pm and 8 pm would be a good time to call in - or if you would like to speak to one of the club's officers ahead of a visit, please contact.......... Alan on 0754934154 or enquiries@bridgendac.co.uk

Leaving on Jet plane!
One of our most talented and successful athletes Jonathan Hopkins has left the club this week ,not to join another club but jetting off to America to enter the very strong collegiate (University) system there.
We would like to thank Jon for his commitment and support of the club over the years and wish him every success in the US and we will be watching his performances with great expectation in the coming years.
David Guest update
Some bad news David Guest had to withdraw from the Commonwealth Games team due to a knee injury picked up at the recent World Junior Championships in Canada.

We are the Plate Champions! and silver at AAA
What a great day today ,firstly the brilliant performance of the whole team today in the Welsh Plate final for u13 to u20s in Brecon.
We were extremely lucky with the weather avoiding the forecast heavy rain and even seeing some sunshine in the afternoon .
We retained the Welsh Plate we also won last year by 109 points from Neath with Barry&Vale in third,it was a brilliant all round team performance taking into account the fact we only had one !!! u13b and three u20 athletes, the rest of the team made up for this with many great and determined performance and filling in on events.
The team attitude was summed up by Hannah Greenslade who competed and won the u17g hammer with PB throw, calling in at Brecon on route to Bedford to compete in the AAA tomorrow.
There were too many winners to mention and the whole team can be proud of their efforts fighting for every point and position all through the day.
A massive well done and thank you to Jason Quirke for getting the team together and team managing and also the officials, coaches and parents for their support today.
