BRIDGEND ATHLETIC CLUB is based at the Clubhouse and Running Track behind the BRIDGEND RECREATION CENTRE ,Newbridge Fields ,BRIDGEND, South Wales.
Help is always required for coaching, administration and general assistance. We will give help and arrange training for coaches and officials.

On Sunday in Swansea we brought the curtain down on our NYAL season in great style winning a very keenly contested contest by only 21 points from Yeovil/Wells & Taunton with Bath in third and Hereford fourth.(subject to conformation)
I would like to thank those of you who helped make the day possible and a great successes, I would also like to thank all the visiting clubs for their contribution on the day and good spirit in competition and not forgetting the officials.
Full results now available and final league table, we finished a very creditable 4th just missing out on promotion on the back of an officials technicality in Swindon!

This Saturday we will be competing in the final Welsh Junior League fixture in Newport,this is for u13-u20 and the team is selected two per event however we are very short on numbers this week due to holidays if you are available please let your coach know ASAP.

Please note we will move field event training from Friday`s to Thursday`s 6.00-7.30 for the remainder of the season.

You may or may not be aware we are planning to run Star Track Athletic courses at the Track for ages 9-13 .
The first course starts on Monday the 29th of July to Friday the 1st of August (2nd course 11th of August to 15th of August) 10am to 3pm daily ,the cost of the course is £30 per child for the full week .
For this they will receive coaching in all basics of athletics events and a goody bag of Star Track merchandise and a certificate on completion of the course.
Please could you spread the word and if anyone is interested please contact Ian Morgan on 07807431824 as soon as possible as there are a limited number of spaces available on a first come first served basis.

Well Done to everyone who completed the inaugral Countryside 5 miler.
The support and feedback we've received so far has been very positive (especially the scones !)and we're looking forward to staging an even bigger and better event next year.
A special thanks to all marshalls, officials, catering, setting-up and taking-down helpers.
Also a special thanks to Triathlon World Champion Helen Tucker and Marc Jenkins (and Barney) for presenting the prizes.

There are still a number of outstanding Memberships due ,these are now 3 months overdue! Please make every effort to return completed forms with payment to Jeremy Sage ASAP.
We will be displaying a list of Non-members names at the Clubhouse as of the 21st of July.
Please note this is a matter of Health and Safety and not just money the membership includes insurance cover for the club, Athletes and coach and is not optional!All athletes must be fully paid up members to train on the track and compete anyone who has not paid will NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRAIN AT THE TRACK OR COMPETE FOR THE CLUB!
Also please remember if you have not signed up to the standing order(£8 a month) for training fees it will cost you £2 every session to train at the club.
